Marc Hill has almost 15 years’ experience as an accountant. He started his career at a Melbourne-based boutique firm before joining BG Private in 2014 where he quickly progressed through the ranks. After several years as Senior Manager, he made Associate Partner in 2022 and then became a Partner in 2024.

Marc Hill is one of the firm’s specialists in assisting our Australian clients launch their businesses overseas. This includes advising on optimal business structures, connecting them to the right experts in each region to help achieve the best possible worldwide taxation outcome, and flagging potential pitfalls and possibilities.

He is well versed in the Australian, US and European markets.

With his strong expertise in music and entertainment advisory, his clients include both well-known and up-and-coming artists, directors, and writers.

He also helps foreign entities from a broad range of industries set up operations in Australia to ensure they meet their compliance obligations. His diverse range of international clients includes several large multinationals. He is experienced in dealing with their accountants in other jurisdictions to ensure the best possible outcome when they expand into Australia.

Marc also specialises in building and construction, helping clients navigate challenges associated with GST and specific tax issues relating to new commercial and residential developments.

As a leader within the firm, Marc has mentored and developed a large team of accountants helping each one develop their technical and client service skills. He prioritises teaching the importance of giving each client fast and accurate information.

As a Partner, Marc is now even more focussed on helping his clients grow their businesses with insightful and strategic commercial advice.

Outside of work, Marc is a keen cyclist and loves spending the weekends training his dog (a chocolate Labrador named Raffy). In line with his Italian heritage, you’ll also find Marc keeping traditions alive in the kitchen whether it’s taking part in the annual Passata Day (the classic tomato sauce making day) or making salami from scratch.
