Shaun Gogna joined BG Private as a Bookkeeper in 2019 bringing both public practice and industry experience. In 2022, he was promoted to Assistant Manager, helping lead our Bookkeeping team which is now almost 10 strong.

Shaun Gogna is experienced in managing the bookkeeping needs of both small and large businesses, including their daily bookkeeping, payroll, and accounts payable and receivable tasks. He prides himself on ensuring clients feel that these matters are taken care of, and that they can focus their attention on other aspects of running their businesses.

He also supports clients by recommending the best accounting software for their needs and helping them transition to more user-friendly solutions. His objective is always to find ways to introduce efficiencies and set up systems and processes that will result in better business decisions.

Shaun’s clients are his top priority, making him a highly valued advisor. He loves to proactively connect, and adds value by implementing improvements beyond the expected.

Having started his career as a bookkeeper and progressed over the years, he is able to give more junior staff mentorship and training to help them develop their own skillsets and careers.

Shaun is a devoted family man. He spends his weekends with his wife and two beautiful daughters and loves to explore new places with them.

Experiences of note

  • A client was doing all elements of bookkeeping manually – including paper timesheets – which is much slower than using modern accounting software. By transitioning the client to Xero, their payroll (and other processes) become much faster. The client was ecstatic with the cost savings the business achieved as a result of this change.
  • A client was left in the dark because they were not able to easily access the right reports via their accounting software, making business decisions less accurate. Shaun recommended a more user-friendly software and helped the client migrate everything over. Now the client can easily access the right information so that she has the data she needs whenever she needs it.
